To ensure the final crater surface is flush and not below the original pavement height, final grade and compaction procedures must be performed. This step is essential before a FOD cover can be installed. Follow the procedures in UFC 3-270-07. NOTE: The crushed stone layer should have a minimum 25 California Bearing Ratio (CBR) to support C-17, C-130, and/or fighter operations. 10.11. Dual-Crater Repair. It is more efficient to repair two craters concurrently than to complete one crater before beginning the second crater.
