MIL-PRF-680 is a performance specification for degreasing solvent [TO 33-1-37-2]. The specification covers four types of petroleum distillates: "Stoddard solvent," "141 degrees Fahrenheit solvent," "200 degrees F solvent," and "141 degrees F d-limonene blended solvent" [TO 33-1-37-2]. These solvents are used for degreasing machine parts in equipment maintenance [TO 33-1-37-2].
Disposal: Disposal must comply with local, state, and Federal regulations, with care taken to avoid mixing used MIL-PRF-680 with other waste materials, especially those containing halogenated solvents [MIL-PRF-680 para 6.5]. However, these solvents can be recycled instead of disposed [MIL-PRF-680 para 6.5].
Material Safety Data Sheets: Contracting officers must identify activities requiring completed MSDSs prepared per FED-STD-313 [MIL-PRF-680 para 6.6], and 29 CFR 1910.1200 requires MSDS submission for each hazardous material [MIL-PR
